VentMI

Emergency situations may require patients to split a ventilator, but simple splitters require each patient to share the same pressure settings. Ventilate Multiple Individuals (VentMI) is the first ventilator splitting system that allows individualized pressure control to both patients, returning some control to healthcare professionals. MakeMedical has received emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for VentMI, offering critical care patients access to this technology.

VentMI was developed by Dr. Kyle VanKoevering of the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System along with David Kopf, Glenn Green and Owen Tien at the University of Michigan, and is non-exclusively licensed to MakeMedical.
