2020 National VA Research Week -- Suspension of On-site Events and Observances
In support of CDC and VA recommendations aimed at limiting community spread of the novel coronavirus, the VA Office of Research and Development has decided to suspend all physical, on-site observances of National VA Research Week 2020.
ORD leadership believes this action best reinforces VA's comprehensive plan to protect and care for Veterans and VA health care staff who are or will be potentially exposed to the novel coronavirus.
We deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and we thank local VA research offices and their staff for their efforts to date, to prepare for this year's Research Week. The work that you do is of vital importance to the Veterans we serve and our nation, especially as we work together to respond to the COVID-19 global crisis.
ORD Communications will continue to work diligently to publicize the great work going on at VAMCs nationwide. And as always, we ask that you let us know of any local research studies or initiatives that you believe would be of interest to the greater VA community and our external stakeholders.
All are invited to submit research news items from your local VAMC for potential promotion on our website and through other national VA channels during the week of May 11 – 15. While ORD is suspending all physical, on-site observances and events connected with Research Week, we will mark this special week this year through virtual means.
If you have any questions, or would like to share a research advance from your site for potential national promotion through our office, please contact Erica Sprey in ORD Communications at firstname.lastname@example.org.
