Treatment for lung cancer in those with early stage local disease includes surgery and chemotherapy. However, persistent or chronic neuropathic pain, either post-thoracotomy persistent pain (PTPP) or chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) occurs in a majority of patients.
