Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a prevalent progressive neurodegenerative disease involving the loss of functional neuromuscular junctions (NMJ) and motor neurons (MN), and subsequent paralysis. No effective cures for ALS exist and current therapies only marginally impact disease course.
