Project Background/Rationale. Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disease, affecting over one million Americans. The cardinal clinical manifestations of PD include resting tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia, and postural instability/gait disturbance (Olanow et al., 2009).
