The incidence of infections due to highly resistant Acinetobacter baumannii is increasing. True pan drug resistant (PDR) strains have been reported. Unfortunately, the newly approved antimicrobials ceftolozane-tazobactam, ceftazidime-avibactam, and meropenem/vaborbactam are poorly active against resistant A. baumannii.
