Multi-Purpose Arm Cycle Ergometer (M-PACE)

Multi-Purpose Arm Cycle Ergometer (M-PACE)

Caregivers have long recognized that prolonged immobilization negatively affects the central nervous systems, skeletal and muscular health and the respiratory, and digestive system. It can also result in decreased cardio and aerobic capacity. The M-PACE is an innovative piece of exercise equipment which can be deployed over a bed and used by patients in a supine position. The M-PACE can be adjusted for use in a seated or standing position as well, allowing the equipment to be used through all phases of a patient's recovery .

The M-PACE was developed by Drs. Gary Goldish, Andrew Hansen, Eric Nickel, Gregory Voss, Stuart Fairhurst and John Ferguson in the Minneapolis VA and is exclusively licensed to Action Manufacturing, Inc.
